Does your smile seem hopelessly compromised? There is an advanced dentistry procedure that can help.

A full mouth reconstruction by Drs. Mike Meek and David Tasch of 38th Street Dental in Austin, TX, can bring your smile back to life.

How can a full mouth reconstruction performed at our state-of-the-art Austin, TX, practice restore your smile as well as your oral health?

About Full Mouth Reconstruction

  • A full mouth reconstruction by Dr. C. Mike Meek or Dr. David J. Tasch combines multiple customized restorative treatments to repair your smile and restore important oral functions.
  • Your dentist will thoroughly assess your teeth, jaws, and other tissues to determine the best restorative solutions for your treatment plan.
  • At 38th Street Dental, we use top-of-the-line dental materials so your restorations will be durable and incredibly lifelike.
  • Most importantly, we take a personalized, educational approach to treatment. You will be fully informed about your care so you can choose the right procedures for your needs.
  • The cosmetics-focused version of this procedure is called a smile makeover. Depending on your goals, your dentist may also include smile makeover treatments (such as veneers) in your full mouth reconstruction plan.

What Can Be Improved with a Full Mouth Reconstruction?

Biting/Chewing

After treatment, you can bite and chew foods you haven't had in years without pain or difficulty.

Diet

Fully functioning teeth mean you can add more crunchy, healthy foods like nuts, raw fruits, and veggies to your diet.

Speech

Your tongue needs teeth to help pronounce certain sounds. Missing teeth can cause your speech to sound garbled or mumbled.

Appearance

Replacing missing teeth with dental implants and restorations or concealing dental flaws with veneers can give you a healthier, more youthful look. Misalignment and discoloration can also be corrected.

Self-Confidence

People with a complete, healthy smile tend to feel more confident about themselves. This can be important in social and professional situations.

Oral Health

By removing decayed tissue, your risk for additional cavities and gum disease is lowered. Dental implants can even prevent tooth loss and jawbone atrophy.

Common Full Mouth Reconstruction Procedures

Your dentist will take precise digital X-rays and 3-D digital CT scans to determine which of the following procedures should be included in your full mouth reconstruction treatment plan:

Dental Implants

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots surgically placed in your jaw where teeth are missing. Lifelike, fully functional dentures, crowns, or bridges can be attached to the implants to replace the tooth from root to chewing surface. Implant-supported dentures provide far more stability than traditional dentures. Our practice only uses the most advanced materials for this procedure, including Nobel Biocare® implants.

Fillings

Fillings are the most common treatment for small to medium cavities. This tooth-colored restoration will strengthen and seal your tooth.

Dental Crowns

A customized crown can protect a compromised tooth after treatment or replace a lost tooth in conjunction with a dental implant. Our dentists work carefully when providing dental crowns to ensure the results look natural, feel comfortable, and provide the needed support.

Bridges

Custom-made dental bridges can replace multiple missing teeth. Along with traditional bridges, which will attach to your teeth, we also offer implant-supported bridges.

Root Canal Therapy

Our dentists can eliminate a dental infection by removing the soft inner tissue of the tooth. The exterior of your tooth will be restored with a customized dental crown.

These thin but very strong porcelain shells fit right over damaged or stained teeth to hide various flaws. They are precisely customized to blend in with your existing teeth.

Once again 38th Street Dental came through with flying colors. The plan was to get a temporary after tooth extraction in a few days but when Dr. Tasch found out that I was to attend a memorial service shortly he spent an hour putting a shorter term temporary then and there, without extra charge. That's above and beyond!

Top flight technical and administrative staff. I can witness that Dr Tasch Is top flight. AND...given that every time I go back they have a new piece of dental technology, they apparently aren’t afraid to invest in their business of serving their patients using “the best”.
