Create a Gorgeous Smile

Clear aligners treat the misaligned teeth that can make us feel self-conscious about our appearance. After you wear your clear aligners for six to 18 months, you will have a straighter, more symmetrical smile you can wear with pride. You can then maintain this smile by continuing to wear retainers at night.

Create a Healthy Smile

A crooked and overcrowded smile can make cleaning your teeth difficult. Hard-to-reach places can allow bacteria to collect, and lead to tooth decay and gum disease. A misaligned bite can also lead to temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), which can cause chronic pain and discomfort. Clear aligners can correct these concerns and make it easier to avoid oral health problems.

Am I a Candidate for Clear Aligners?

Most patients who have all of their adult teeth make good Invisalign candidates. During your consultation at our Austin dental office, your dentist will review your oral health and orthodontic needs to determine if aligners are the best option for you.

No Severe Misalignment

Invisalign works best for mild to moderate misalignment issues. Patients with severe misalignment may need braces or another orthodontic treatment before switching to aligners.

Good Oral Health

You should be in good oral health and free of any tooth decay or gum disease before Invisalign treatment. It is also important to maintain good oral health habits during treatment to prevent plaque buildup.

Committed To Treatment

Invisalign is a commitment. You must wear your aligners for 22 hours each day to stay on track. Good Invisalign candidates are committed to their treatment and follow their dentist's instructions so they can achieve a straighter smile.

No Bruxism

While Invisalign can help correct moderate bruxism (teeth grinding), severe bruxism can damage the aligners. Braces may be recommended for those with severe bruxism so they can continue to wear a night guard while sleeping.

Do I Have To See an Orthodontist To Receive Invisalign Treatment?

/

No, you don't have to see an orthodontist to receive Invisalign treatment. While those with severe misalignment issues may benefit from orthodontics, good candidates for Invisalign can receive the full scope of their treatment at our Austin, TX, practice. Drs. Tasch and Meek are experienced at customizing treatment plans to help their patients achieve a straighter, healthier smile.

The Treatment Process What to Expect

Contact our Austin practice if you want a straighter smile but don't want to undergo orthodontics. Our dentists make the Invisalign process as easy as possible by being there for you at every step of treatment, from aligner fabrication to directions on how to wear your retainer.
With Invisalign, you can have the smile of your dreams in just 6 to 18 months.

Consultation

During your consultation at our Austin office, Drs. Tasch and Meek will perform an evaluation of your teeth, gums, and bite to ensure Invisalign is the ideal solution. They will take high-definition images of your smile to design a customized treatment plan and show you what your new smile will look like after Invisalign.

Aligner Fabrication

Our dentists will send your digital impressions to a trusted lab so they can create your aligners. There are about 20 to 30 separate and sequential aligning trays per treatment. Your exact number of aligners will depend on the condition of your bite.

Wear Your Aligners

Your aligners should be worn 22 hours a day. You can remove them to eat, brush, and floss. Each set of aligners will be worn for about two weeks before moving on to the next. Wear your aligners as instructed by your dentist and contact our office immediately if your aligners have been damaged or lost.

Check in With Us

The schedule of your Invisalign check-up appointments will depend on your individual treatment, but you'll typically visit your dentist every 3-4 weeks.

Enjoy Your Smile

Once your treatment is complete you will have a straighter, healthier smile you'll be proud to show off. Be sure to maintain your results by wearing a retainer, maintaining good oral hygiene, and continuing regular visits to our Austin, TX, practice for dental cleanings.

Taking Your CareTo the Next Level We Offer Invisalign Attachments

/

Invisalign attachments are small tooth-colored pieces of composite resin that our dentists can attach to your teeth. These attachments allow our dentists to alter the pressure of your clear aligners and stimulate certain tooth movements. Attachments can be added or removed during treatment to facilitate proper alignment.
