Things get my attention from time to time.  Well, this got me and I've been meaning to share it with you ever since learning about the possible link of periodontitis to the cognitive degeneraton of dementia and Alzheimer's disease.  Check out this jounel article where researchers were able to identify a significant assoication of the bacteria responsible gum diesae and the amyloid plaques of Alzheimer's and dementia patients.

The implication of ths research is very plain-oral health is likely even more important than we ever realized.  Not only do healthy gums protect a healthy heart, but apparently, they will help protect your mind!

Take and minute and read the abstract from this study.  Truly interesting how our understanding of the human physiology continues to evolve!
