Home run with Vivaneers…another kind of Lumineer
This fella has been a long time patient and I've enjoyed him tremendously. That said, his front end had suffered from extreme wear and attrition and last Fall, he asked me about a makeover. We talked a time or two and then a few weeks ago, he called and said…"Let's get this thing done!". Two appointments later, we had a new smile that he tells me he is thrilled with and honestly, I'm very happy with the outcome using a product similar to Lumineers called, Vivaneers. In delivering this case, I realized I actually like these veneers better than the Lumineer product because the fit more precisely than the Lumineer product. See what you think!

Just a fun little case…
Peg laterals…they just happen and when someone has peg laterals, they often seek the help of a dentist to give them full contour incisors. This is one such case. We prepared both of the little teeth on either side of the front teeth for porcelain veneers and had our friends at DaVinici labs fabricate two beautiful veneers. We also did a little bonding on the canines and front teeth to minimize some spacing issues. It was fun for me!

Are you a Cosmetic Dentist?
Quite frequently I get asked:
“Are you a cosmetic dentist?
Well, let me begin by saying that I am not one to give a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer. So, in keeping true to form here’s my answer:
The majority of the dentistry I do is directed towards preventing problems or fixing things that have broken. Preserving and maintaining a person’s dental health is my primary goal in practicing dentistry. Filling cavities, placing crowns on broken teeth and replacing missing teeth with dental implants are all good examples of this type of dentistry.
With regards to cosmetics, like most everyone, I do love a beautiful smile. However, I tend to see all people as beautiful, and therefore I am not one to aggressively suggest or ‘push’ cosmetic services. Sometimes, however, patients come to me asking for help. The before and after pictures below illustrate just such an example.
Transformation of this patient’s smile involved some minor reshaping of her gum tissues and placement of two crowns and two veneers. Completing this case gave both myself and the patient a great amount of satisfaction.
Cosmetic dentist? I’ll let you decide.

Lumineers- A Real Smile Makeover!
Tina, one of our excellent office administrators came to me and asked to have her smile veneered with Lumineers. I was happy to oblige and with no local anesthetic at either the impression or delivery appointment, we made over Tina's smile. She is straight, white, and bright! Take a look at her before and after photos:

With each case I deliver, I like this product more and more. It is basically reversible in most cases and doesn't require any aggressive reduction of tooth structure! If you would like to visit with me or see Tina's smile, give us a call at 458-6222 to set up a cosmetic consult!

New All Ceramic Crowns to Replace
Old Porcelain Fused to Metal Crowns
This patient had been involved with my practice for a number of years and one day I asked her if we could talk about updating her smile. After a consultation or two, she gave me the go ahead to remove her old crowns, modify the preparations, and have new all ceramic crowns made to whiten and brighten her smile. Honestly, it was one of my most favorite cases to date because of the dramatic result and how sweet this gal is with me and my staff.

Fantastic Lab Support from DaVinci Labs and a Great Before and After!
I have had the pleasure of working with a very remarkable young woman that brought me this fun project. She presented for care requesting that a gold sleeve be removed from her front tooth. We got together this morning and delivered her new DaVinci Studios porcelain fused to zirconia crown! What a fantastic result! I am so excited to have such a fantastic partner for repairing single front teeth. Can you tell which tooth has the crown on it?
Porcelain fused to zirconia gives the strength of the old porcelain and metal crowns without the unsightly dark line at the gums. We can get this result in most every case and I love making crowns "invisible" in people's smiles!

A Case of Full Arch Rehabilitation
From time to time, I have someone seek me out to help them restore their smile. Not just a case of making it straight and white, but more like a comprehensive restoration of a smile that got lost in the shuffle along the way.
Last October, I met just such a patient. He had not been to a dentist in a while and had an accident at the house that caused the front teeth to break.
We started with three diagnosis and consultation appointments. When you have extensive needs, it is so very important to take time to develop the treatment plan and make certain that all aspects of the case are investigated completely. Next, we performed the necessary disease control procedures including root canal therapies and the associated structural elements for those four front teeth and that led us to placement of temporary crowns in December.
After a holiday break, we performed clinical crown lengthening to create symmetry in the gum line of his front teeth and that was allowed to heal for six weeks. Final crowns were then fabricated at Da Vinci Lab in Hollywood, California and that allowed us to produce the result shown below.
I absolutely love cases like this. It is the epitome of what I enjoy in dentistry and have trained for over the last eighteen years. I congratulate this man for having the courage to come and ask for my help and hope his case can inspire others to aspire to the same level of greatness for their oral health!
